SubscriberHello everyone,
I am currently experiencing a problem with Ansys: I cannot evaluate my shaft correctly because there are not enough nodes for an accurate simulation. As soon as I exceed approximately 128,000 nodes, the calculation becomes impossible. However, I need around 2 million nodes for an accurate analysis. Is there a way to increase the number of nodes/elements?
Many thanks in advance for your answer!Kind regards,
Torsten

Forum ModeratorIf you mean there is a warning/error about node count then you've exceeded the permitted limits in Ansys Student. You'll need a Research licence for 2M along with a much bigger computer and parallel licences.Â

SubscriberHey Rob,
that's exactly what I meant, the PC is not the problem, just the licenses. But thanks for the feedback -

Forum ModeratorYou'll need Research and HPC for additional parallel. Student (and Teaching) are for learning, they're not intended to be used for larger scale projects. For example, with 128k nodes you'll have the same set up and post processing workflow, but lower accuracy due to resolution.Â
