Plastic Kinematic Material Model

Hi everyone, I am using MAT_24 for polymer simulations for high strain rates. In this model, does C represent strain rate or is it a material property?

I am not putting curve as an input, but rather all the material properties. If I change C according to my application, does it have an effect on P as well or the strain rate will be taken into consideration according to the loading conditions?

Please help me clarify the doubts and suggest measures for effective high-strain-rate modelling.

      Thanks and regards

      Hi Raghav,

In MAT_24, C and P are coefficients in the Cowper-Symonds model, which accounts for strain rate sensitivity. These coefficients depend on the material being analyzed. As described below, the Cowper-Symonds term is multiplied by the yield stress to calculate the dynamic yield stress (see the screenshot below from the keyword manual).
