SubscriberHi! All
My company had just purchased Discovery 2024R2 with "Named User" authorization package in late 2024.
This order includes TECS packages lasts until Sep. 2025.
We are considering upgrade to 2025R1 due to some GUI issues happens frequently in 2024R2. However,
it just throw messages saying a Discovery Ultimate feature is needed to activate the full function of 2025R1 when
the installation is completed.
We'd submitted this issue to our agent and got an answer saying that we might have to migrate the Named User
Authorization to Floating License if we plan to use 2025 and later version. The answer from the agent is not
clarified on cost issued whether we have to pay additional fee or ANSYS would offer this upgrade for free.
It's a bit bothering since users under TECS are grantted upgrading their ANSYS software for free as usual case,
but it seems not applicable at this time.Â
I would like to know if there are other users have similar problem with me and how was this issued tackled down?
Any ANSYS guys from Discovery Product Line is welocme to provide your comments for this upgrading issue.
