SubscriberHello All,
I am trying to perform a dyanmic crash simulation in LSDYNA.
In the FE Model I have a part with two mesh sizes,
Size 1: with 3mm + 1mm(at thin areas) and Size 2: with 1mm mesh. Both are tetra meshed.
With my current timestep of E-4 the part was having huge mass addition that is why I decided to add the part in the SMS set but when I try to run the simulation,
with Size 1: I get out-of-range forces at a location which is far from the part in question.
and with Size 2: the simulation does not run at all. It's stuck before calculation go to the transient phase.
Did anyone face similar issues? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank You. -

Ansys EmployeeI believe these issues are occurring due to the addition of excessive mass.
To ensure the feasibility of results, the added mass should not exceed 5%.

Raman Babu
