For some reason the top ribbon of my ansis fluent does not show any more. Its unclear why. In the right click menu the ribbon is also grayed out. 

I am using ansys on Arch Linux.

Try typing   /display/update-layout default  into the Console.

Is there maybe some log file that can be found somewhere?

Didn't the command work? There may not be a log, it depends how you broke it.
