Tension-only Longitudinal Spring Connection

      Hello,

I am using ANSYS Workbench 18.2 and I'm trying to define linear longitudinal tension-only spring connections in a 2D (plane strain) model. The spring behavior was automatically set to "Both" and this section is grayed (as shown in the below screenshot) and I can't change it. Could you please let me know if there is a way to change my springs behavior from "Both" to "Tension only"?

      Thank you!

      Best regards,

      Diane

      Hi Diane,

For me it allows me to change to tension only, can you please share more info about the model set up (like taking more screenshots of the modeling tree?)

      Regards,

      Wenlong

      Hi Wenlong,

Please find the screenshot of the modeling tree below. Do you think it can be a license issue?

I will also try to attach the workbench file so you can look into more details if you want.

      Thank you for your help!

      Best regards,

      Diane

      Hi Diane,

If you are running a 2D analysis, you may need to turn on "Beta Option" to view that. Go to Workbench, Tools--> Options--> Appearance --> Toggle "Beta option"

      Regards,

      Wenlong
