SubscriberHello,
The below can be visualized as a tire part. And it is resting on the pavement. This is a sectioned view of that. As you can see the mesh is in bad shape. I want to improve the area where there are lines and cracks in mesh element area. Any suggestions?Â
When I try to use inflation it does not give me good results due to the red pointy area. That is the area I want to define very accurately since I want to study the flow in that area. How can I do this?

Ansys Employeeplease create a chamber or round at that location using pull tool in spaceclaim. this will chop off that sharp angle.Â

SubscriberThank you for your reply. So does that mean apart from the sharp edge, this mesh is ok? I am worried about the lines that are seen. won't they affect the mesh?
I am concerned since I do not get expected results from the mesh.

Thanks.

Ansys Employeei think you are have taken a cross section. that is why those lines come in display. if this is the case then it would not give any problem in solver.Â
if it is a cut cell mesh and the lines you are refering are actual mesh lines then it may have bad quality.Â
please check orthogonal quality. it should be less than 0.1.
there are many posts on this community regarding mesh quality. please check.Â

SubscriberThank you for your reply. Shouldn't the orthogonal quality should be closer to 1? Isn't it become bad and unacceptable when it reached to 0?Â
And about the mesh lines, yes that was a cross section. Thank you !!!

Ansys EmployeeTHe min orthogonal quality should be above 0.1.Â
Below 0.1 is bad.Â
