Hello,
I tried a thermal stress analysis in Workbench but I have some problems with the time steps. The beginning stept is 0s and the max step is 20 s but ANSYS says that this a problem which leads to the unability to perform my simulation. I added a screenshot which shows the steps used.
Can someone explain me what I need to enter there? And moreover, what is the reason for this issue?
Â
Wishes,
Dan

The initial time step must be larger than the minimum time step.
Try using 5 s for Initial, 0.5 s for minimum and 20 s for maximum.

Hi Peter,Â
Â
thanks for your answer! I tried your time settings, but Ansys still says that there is something wrong. It marks the 20 s 5 and 0.5 is not marked yellow. I do not understand why this is happening now. I tried 6 and 30 s instead of 20 but this is marked as well. Can you explain me this?

Please reply and insert a screen snaphot image of the analysis settings.

The initial time must be greater than or equal to the minimum time step.
The End Time must be greater than or equal to the Maximum Time Step.
Try this.
End Time 20 s
Initial Time Step 1 s
Minimum Time Step 0.1 s. That way, the solver can reduce the time step if necessary.
Maximum Time Step 4 s. That way, you get more than 5 results on the way to the end time.

I have no "end time". I have Initial, min and max. How can I get this end time array?

Hi,
Â
thanks, I found it. It has a completly other name in german. ANSYS simulates something now, but it doesn't make sense, so I need to look in the simulation again.
