SubscriberHello,
I am using CFX to simulate the flow in a bathtub with a drainage at the bottom. I have a simple rectangular Domain with an inlet pipe flow and an outlet pipe. When setting the analysis, I have chosen water as fluid in the domain, while also adding buoyancy in the -y direction. Inlet domain set to 10 ft/s. Reference pressure at 1 atm and relative to 0 atm. Outlet set to static pressure. Also I made the top face of the domain an opening since in a bathtub the top is open, and other faces set to wall no slip condition, turbulence set to SST. For type of problem I chose Steady State. When finished and viewing the flow of water, I see that the flow goes out from the opening while some leaves through outlet. Â While also when using streamline function at post, the water particles shoot right up to the opening.Â
My problem is that I’m trying to simulate a bathub being filled and water being accumulated and reaching the point where inflow= outflow, I don’t want an overflow in the top opening. Is it that I have to do transient instead of ss? Or do I have to put another domain consisting of air in order to keep water from going to the top?Â

SubscriberI am not using any multiphase. Should i be using one?
Also I am studying the flow in a particular section i am not really concerned on what is happening at the particle level, Would I be choosing Eulerian Multiphase?
Â
Thank You! I appreciate the help
