I have this rectangular cross section hook which i will use to pick up some kind of a weight, The boundary conditions that i have applied are:
      1) The top end is a fixed support.
      2) I have used a remote force to simulate the load applied on the hook, where i selected the whole area that in my opinion is affected by the force and than for applying the remote force i use location variable to select the area where the load will be applied, its a vertically downward acting load. Is my approach correct or no.?

      Hi Sikandar,

As I can see in this case you are applying two loads, may I know the reason?

The entire structure will be affected by load but we need to scope the area or edge on which the load is applied.

      Regards,

      Sourabh
