SubscriberDear All,
I am struggling with my UDF.
Â
A few years ago,I built the UDF for Eulerian-Eulerian multiphase model, which works smoothly on Fluent 14.5.
However, when I try to use my code on the Fluent19.3 platform, it fails with an error message of "expert option for not freeing temporary solver memory is incompatible with adaption in parallel".Â
Since I need to obtain the temperature gradient value (C_T_G(c,t)) during calculation, it is very necessary for my code to 'keeping temporary memory' on,Â
In this case, do you have any comments for this issue?
Any comments from you are very appreciated.Â
Thank you!

Have you tried the workaround suggested in the text?
Â
Thank you so much for your reply.
Unfortunatly, I cannot find any useful information from the suggested workaround.Â
Basicly, what I am looking forward is how to obtain the temperature gradient value (C_T_G(c,t)) during calculation under the condition of "expert option for not freeing temporary solver memory is incompatible with adaption..."

By the way, here is the Workaround as suggested in the text: 'Workaround: If you encounter unacceptable changes in serial that cannot be resolved by other means, you can revert to a version that is similar to serial from the previous release; note that this workaround will not be available indefinitely, but has been extended to this release in order to provide time to migrate to the new version. You can only revert when launching ANSYS Fluent: select the Parallel processing option in Fluent Launcher and enter 0 for the number of Processors; alternatively, include the argument -t0 when launching from the command line.'

Ansys EmployeeDo you require that temperature gradient in a source term of the energy equation? If elsewhere you need to build up the gradients. There is an unofficial method which we won't post here. If you have an access to the customer portal you might find further information how to get gradients.

SubscriberDear Amine,
Thank you so much for your reply.
I require the temperature gradient in my Define_ADJUST function.Â
Yes, I do have the access to the customer portal, however, I havenot found the useful information from the customer portal. Are you able to send me the link? Many thanks.

Ansys EmployeeNo just use keywords like gradients and derivative. Even on this site someones shared that.
