SubscriberIs there any FEA example of the two snap fits insertion (with video and 3D example will be better)?
I'm trying to do the snap fits insertion FEA trial, but cannot get the correct setup, looking forward the example for reference.
Only can find one example of workbench, but not good example for the Discovery.

Hi
We do not have such an example – this is a nonlinear analysis (NL) - Discovery is more for initial design / linear and simple analysis, not NL analysis with sliding contacts, so use Workbench Mechanical as in the tutorial is suggested as it can account for all NL in ths problem.
We can analyze this by neglecting one part and the contact and just apply displacement on the insert part:

As we said for detailed nonlinear analysis (material and contact NL) use Mechanical
Best wishes

Ansys EmployeeHi
We can use frictional contacts:
In the structural simulation module, you have the option to switch to frictional contact, which allows frictional contact with separation (Refine stage)

Hy, thats exactly also my problem and I must say that snap-fit simulation is possible when you take a look on this video from 30min on. But I tried a lot and it don´t work like in that video.

In Refine mode the simulation stopped mostly without any hint, but sometimes: "Ansys solver stopped: Der Antwortstatus gibt keinen Erfolg an: 404 (Not found)" which is really cryptic - I think it means no convergation.
