      Hii all

      I need shell element for 3 dimensional asymmetric solid model in ansys workbench to analyse the effect of  bending load how can i get it??

      Please reply with an image of the solid model geometry.  Annotate the image with the boundary conditions you want to use. Where will the supports be applied, what kind of supports (fixed, pinned)?  Where will the load be applied?

      Respected sir-

      Sorry for the delay

       Kindly refer below image which shows my model and annotation (one side fixed on both surfaces and another side the bending load is applied) i request you to let me know how can i get shell element for this solid model.

      Is this geometry in SpaceClaim?

      If so, select the side face of the body, and paste it as a surface. Delete the solid body. Now you have a surface that you can mesh with shell elements and assign them the thickness that represents with width of the solid body.

      The two faces that you show as fixed and for applying load are now edges.

      sir-;

         I imported the model into  SpaceClaim from solidworks (3D body).but after importing it is showing as surface.when i try to hide/delete the solid body the entire surfaces are deactivating. please refer the below image. and sir i am new to ansys
