      I want to simulate an energy source term describe the solidification and melting process of phase change material encapsulated in spherical capsules and packed in a thermocline tank.

      the term source is   s= - d((1-phi)*rho* DELTA H))/dt,

      What's the question? Source terms are covered in the UDF manual.

      WHEN I ENTER THE SOURCE TERM OF THE LATENT HEAT THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION NO CHANGED, IT MUST BE INCREASED TO A CERTAIN VALUE AND THEN REMAINS CONSTANT DURING PHASE CHANGE PROCESS AND FINALLY INCREASED. BUT WHEN ENTER THIS UDF SOURCE THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION. WHY?

      SOURCE TERM OF LATENT HEAT WHICH DESCRIBE THE MELTING AND SOLIDIFICATION PROCESS OF ENCAPSULATED PHASE CHANGE MATERIAL INSIDE THERMOCLINE TANK.

       s= - d((1-phi)*rho* DELTA H))/dt,

      phi IS the porosity of the packed bed,

      rho is the solid density of pcm,

      DELTA H is the latent heat content which is a function of temperature which is varies with time

      dt is the physical time step

      so, HOW can I write this udf source correctly?

      Edit moving to fluid.

      Did you check customization Manual as well as the melting solidification model?
