SubscriberI have a resonator circuit, and since it has a long length, it is taking a lot of time to simulate. Since it is a symmetric circuit, is there any way to simulate just half of the circuit and still obtain the complete results? Can anyone please explain this in detail? I am attaching my circuit design with this post.

Bbp_moderatorHi,
Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys learning forum. Your patience is much appreciated.
Your model looks to be simple for a full model analysis. Please provide the time taken by your model and the system resources like RAM and CPU processors to help us serve you better (You can share screenshots of the top and bottom sections of analysis profile of your model).
Best regards,
Praneeth,

Bbp_participantI think it works.
My opinion we simulate just for IL and RL, IL more base on length, and this resonator is transfering by cycle, we can just trim for small sample.
And RL only base on the continuity of TDR, if this resonator can keep TDR no change, we can ignore the length.

SubscriberThe model is simple, but when I attempt to perform a full model simulation for a frequency sweep, it takes many hours to complete. This is because I need to use a very small mesh size (0.2 mm), which is necessary due to the small interior width of the resonator (approximately 1 mm), while the total length of my model is 30 mm. Since I am using a 0.2 mm mesh size, the simulation takes a very long time to complete for each frequency sweep. Given that the maximum mesh size should be 0.2 mm, the only viable option for me is to simulate only a portion of the circuit, as the structure is periodic. Is there any way to simulate like this?

Bbp_moderatorHi,
I am not sure why you want to kee the maximum mesh size as 0.2mm. Is it recommended by any expert?
The general recommendation would be to use the default adaptive meshing which gives the accurate result. If the adaptive passes did not converge, then you could increase the maximum number of passes.
Best regards,
Praneeth.

SubscriberThank you for the reply. Can anyone please explain how to simulate circuits with symmetry, like this one, by simulating only a portion of it?
