Good morning everyone,
For a few weeks I tried to make a sloshing analysis for a fuel tank and everytime I ran the simulation the "floating point exception" error occurred. It happened after a few iterations, not immediately.
I tried to make a better mesh but it still didn't work so I tried to simplify the shape of the tank in order to understand if the problem was the imported CAD or whatever.
With the simplified shape the quality of the mesh seemed okay (I put a photo of the parameters and the shapes)In the setup in Ansys fluent I put the right setting because when I tried the first sloshing analysis in a glass-shaped object, it did work fine. Putting the same settings on this shape didn't work at all.
What should I do? -

Floating point tends to mean divergence. Assuming you've got the set up OK, check mesh resolution (do you have enough cells - cell quality is only part of what makes a good mesh) and time step size.
