SubscriberHallo, i am trying to simulate a flat water jet from a nozzle, where I have a mass flow inlet and at the exit of the nozzle I expect a flat film of water jet. Use eulerian multiphase (two phase) coupled pressure based solver with kw -sst turblnz model fluent 19.2 along with heat transfer at plate surface, but instead of getting a flat jet the flow concentrate too much at the center if we look into volume fraction of water but velocity profile obtained as expected. What could be the possible reasons that I am not able to obtain a flat film completely. Picture of volume fraction of water attached below. Thank you for your comments.

Ansys EmployeeI would rather use VOF with dynamic mesh adaption and unsteady solver.
Are you running unsteady? What about the nozzle geometry? -

SubscriberHalo, i did not try with VOF yet, its is unsteady solver. I had codes developed for circular jet and I was modifying this for flat jet since finally I have to bring both into same simulation with heat transfer and also UDF codes develpoed for all regimes of boiling. CAD Geomerty is from the nozzle manufacturer I have not considered wall thickness, I just took only the interior walls. Is that a problem .?

Ansys EmployeeNo not a problem. It looks like you have not run longer or there is huge diffusion and/ strong backflow. If backflow us occurring try enlarge domain and put pressure boundaries and/or consider symmetry for side walls.
