Hello,
Â
I have a simulation using SPH where I would like to access the pressure and density histories. When I go to the history file I can print and save the pressure for individual particles, but for some reason I cannot get my density history for SPH particles despite the results being in the database since I can plot the fringe. If I activate HYDRO = 2 in extent_binary I can access the history variables which include density, but it prints 0 for the density variable. I suspect this has to do with the way density is calculated for the SPH particles. Is there a way for me to get these SPH particle densities in the history file that I am unaware of?
Any clarification on this would be appreciated. Thanks and have a great day!

Hello Ram,Â
Â
Thank you for the reply. Yes saving the SPHout data would work, but i'm looking at an interfacial mixing problem where the region i'm interested in is stochastic and hard to predict which particles to save data on which is why I was trying to use the fringe plot histories instead.

I'm saving a lot of history variables and I assumed HYDRO = 2 would append the history variables at the end, but actually it appears it appended them somewhere in the middle. When I went through the history variables 1 by 1 I was able to find the density history variable and I could save the elemental density history for any particle that way. In my case it ended up being history variable 17 out of the 28 I have saved.Â

I thought HYDRO = 2 would append the history variables at the end, but it seems to have done so somewhere in the middle. I'm saving a lot of historical variables. I found the density history variable by going through the history variables one by one. In this manner, I was able to store the elemental density history for any particle. In my instance, it turned out to be history variable 17 of the 28 that I had stored.Â
