This error occurred in Discovery while attempting to save the project in Workbench. This project only includes one Fluid Flow Fluent block for which the geometry is linked to the Discovery file that seems to be causing the error. The original imported geometry came from a parasolid which was then modified in Discovery and resaved as a .dsco file. This issue persisted when my file was saved onto my local C: drive, as well as on a OneDrive cloud folder synced directly into File Explorer. 

The pop-up in Discovery said the following: "A serious error has occurred and unpredictable application behavior is like"

For the error: System.IO.IOException: Access to the path 'session_files' is denied.

This error most commonly ocurs when a Workbench project is being worked on while on a OneDrive location.
OneDrive sets the read-only attribute on the session_files folder, thus Workbench can no longer manipulate the folder. 
Copying a Project or archive to OneDrive for storage seems to work OK.

But I think you have two different issues here. 
In your case, it appears as if Discovery has crashed for some reason. 
Q: Does Discovery work reliably on your computer with other geometry?
