Varying density

      Hello,

I want to see the effect of density change in my simulation as the simulation is running. Is it possible to write a script in Rocky that can do this? I want to see the change in  behavior of particle in my system as the density increases.

      Thanks with regards,

      Ayuk

      Hello,

What density change do you want to analyze? Particle's density change?

      How is density increasing?!

In wet grinding there is a point when the content of the mill become sticky. But before this point the density of the content changes are the mineral become fine. I want to mimic this phenomenon in the simulation. Reasons why I need to change the density of the content in the simulation if that is obtainable.

      Best regards,

      Ayuk,

Are you simulatin DEM-SPH? or DEM-only?

You can check the particle's density or SPH element's density by accessing the Properties tab on the Data Editors and plotting Density in a Time Plot.

      Hello Lucas,

Thank yo so much for the quick response,

      I am simulating DEM-SPH.

      Best regards,

      Ayuk

      Hello Lucas,

I cheeked the SPH element's density and I plotted it aganist time. However,  the graph shows a constant density throughout the entire simulation. I am expecting to see the density increasing then form a plateu at some point.

      Back to my question

Is it possible in Rocky to model the SPH density such that it a constant say 10kg/m3 at t=0s and increase to say 400kg/m3 and for a plateu at some point and it continue being at that constant value for the rest of the simulation time?

Ayuk, our SPH models are "Weakly Compressible (WCSPH)" or "Incompressible (IISPH)", so density oscillations are not expected.

I can't see how the density would vary this much. Are you using any custom module?
