Mesh export in .exo or .cgns format in Ansys Workbench

Hello Ansys community, I wanted to know whether it is possible to export the meshes created in Ansys Workbench 2024R1 (Student Version) in the .exo or .cgns format.

Also, is there any way to read the meshes from the above mentioned version into ICEM CFD 2021R1?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are you trying to do some of the meshing in Student and then move over to a fully licenced version?

No, I'm basically using Ansys as a third party meshing tool for an open source solver called Nek5000. It has tools named exo2nek and cgns2nek which convert exodus and cgns meshes respectively into Nek5000 compatible formats.

Not sure about ICEM CFD, but check the import options. Fluent also has a few options. However, many of the import/export functions are disabled in Student as they're not needed for the Ansys workflows: it's intended to help learn the tools without needing to dial into the University network.

So, is there a direct way to export Ansys Workbench meshes in .exo format?

I would suspect not, you may find more options in a licenced version of ICEM CFD  https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/Secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v242/en/icm_help/iout_solver.html
