Using the fatigue tool over the random vibration module is powerful and straight forward. After solving the RMS stress, it is possible to find the life and damage, even for non-symmetrical stress behavior (R different from -1).
However, most of the time those dynamic stresses should be combined with static stresses (for instance, if gravity shall be taken into account).Â
Is it possible to feed the fatigue tool with both statistical dynamic stresses and the static ones? -

No. You cannot combine time-based stresse (static or transient) and frequency-based stresses (PSD or harmonic) in the Mechanical Fatigue Tool. You can combine them using Ansys nCode DesignLife. The time-based stress is static offset that provides a mean stress. Â
