I am new to using explicit analyses in ANSYS. I need to perform an impact test where two bodies collide with a cylinder. In previous tests, I set the velocity to 4400 mm/s, and the simulation ran smoothly, allowing me to visualize the results. However, when I change the velocity to 1000 mm/s, I don't get any results, and it seems like the bodies remain stationary.

The bodies are 0.1 mm away from the surface where they are supposed to impact.

I’m a bit lost trying to figure out the reason for this. Could you please help me?

You have an End Time of 0.2 s but the time it takes a body traveling at 1000 mm/s to cover 0.1 mm is 0.0001 s.Try setting your End Time to 0.001 s so you might see the impact.

A better way to model impact events in Explicit Dynamics is to move the geometry so there is no gap between the parts.

The default value for output is 20 frames between 0 and the End Time.  You should also increase the number of output frames from 20 and make it 2000 so you can see output with less time between each frame.

As you suggested, I changed the End time and adjusted the geometry so there is no gap between them. I kept everything else the same as it worked with 4400 mm/s, but I still haven't gotten any results.
I applied an initial speed of 3000 mm/s to test, and I'm still unsuccessful.
The conditions I used were: fixed support at the base and a displacement on the moving parts to restrict movement only in the direction of the velocity. Note that there is no variation in kinetic energy, indicating that no movement is occurring.
