SubscriberI'm new in ANSYS and I'm simulating a welding heat source using the ANSYS workbench R18.2 Academic. I can't use the "Moving Heat Source - ACT Extension" because I'm using a different equation.
I have already written a script in APDL Commands, and I can see the partial temperature results, however, this message always appears when the simulation ends "An unknown error occurred during solution. Check the Solver Output on the Solution Information object for possible causes."Â But when I look in "Solution information" there is no error message.
I checked the contacts region, changed the mesh, and tried all the information I can found in this community, but the error keeps appearing.
Could anybody please help me? -

Ansys EmployeeRight click on the solution and open solver files directory. Look to see if there are any error messages written in file.err?
If not, may be you can post some pictures, describe what you are trying to do and show the apdl commands you are using?

So, as I said, I'm trying to simulating a moving heat source, just this for now. I'm using the following apdl commands, which "QF" is my heat equation:
How you can see, in the messages box, I can see the results, but the error keeps appearing, so I don't know if my results are really right.

Ansys EmployeeMaybe you can try the following:
1) reduce NPT to 3 or so
2) add a /GOPR after the first DO loop (ii index). This way you will at least see if the first element gets reasonable BFE loads
3) add a BFELIS before the SOLVE so you can see what heat gen rates are being applied.
