I am running a simulation that has a pin inserted in a cast steel hole. I have adjusted the geometry to be realistic with the pin sitting on the casting, rather than the two holes being concentric as shown in the image below.Â

When I run initial contact the information says that the contact is not closed.Â
What can I do to improve the contact status? I am running frictional type contact.

SubscriberIn the Details window for that contact, in the Geometric Modification category is the Interface Treatment property.
Set that to Adjust to Touch.

I have set the Adjust to Touch as you recommended. I have re-run the contact tool to get the status and only a small area of the pin is being picked up in contact, as shown in the figures below (1 in the number contacting.Â
I was hoping to see a more even distribution of contract status along the underside of the pin to the casting. Can I improve the status further?
