When i utilize the lumopt to achieve topology optimization,I noticed that the monitor can only use a fixed intrinsic mode to evaluate FOM.
I want to enable a custom monitor to obtain the FOM of OAM beams when using lumopt for topology optimization. Where can I set it up? Is it in a Python file or in a Lumerical script? Can you provide me with some information so that I can solve it myself.
Thank you for your reply.

Hello,
Lumopt only works with guided mode power transmission, using mode overlap. Theoretically, this could be any FOM, lumopt in its current forms is restricted to considering only power transfer in guided mode optics. The lumopt code would need to be modified to run an adjoint simulation based on the FOM used. There has been some unreleased work to look at optimizing for a free space field intensity profile, but this case for OAM beams you would need phase\polarization profile as well.
