How to Set Up CPU to avoid machine crash for ANSYS Mechanical?

I use "Scripting" to write Python code that adjusts the "Analysis Settings" to set up 100 time steps. However, whenever it runs through a few steps (around 10, for example) to update the settings, the machine crashes. I'm using a CPU with 240 cores (10 nodes, each with 24 cores). I'm wondering if there's a way to run the scripting without issues. Should I modify any settings to ensure the scripting runs smoothly? Thank you so much!

      Hi

Can you define what you mean by 'machine crashing'.  Do you really mean the hardware crashes i.e. powers off or reboots?  Or that the application crashes.  An actual hardware crash would be odd and would look at whether the CPU or RAM are over-clocked.  This could cause either to run hot and the heat dissapation capacity of the compute node to be overwhelmed.

If you really mean the application can you post any warnings and errors found in the Solution Output.

Hi Mike, when I mention “crash,” I am referring to a “reboot” situation. Specifically, the “Mechanical” page first becomes unresponsive and then suddenly closes. I am currently using a server instead of a laptop.Do you have any suggestions as to why this might be happening? Thank you!

Ok - well as I said first investigate the hardware and see if either the CPU or RAM are overclocked.  If there is a thermal management tool available see if it has a log.  In the meantime post any warnings and errors that are in the Mechanical Solution Information object.

This is what error I got. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks a lot!
