SubscriberHello guys,
i am trying to simulate an IC engine (4 cylinders - 4 strokes - 4 total valves per cylinder) with also the airbox in cold flow conditions using IC Engine (Forte) from Workbench 19.2.
I'm having some problems in design modeler (DM).Â
I'll try to describe what i do:
-In workbench i choose IC Engine (Forte) and then i setup ICE (valve profile, minimum lift, connecting rod and crank radius).
-Then is the moment to import geometry so i right click geometry and new geometry in designmodeler.
-First of all i change the measurement unit and import an external geometry file in parasolid (.x_t) and in the end i click conversion to evitate problems with geometry type (workbench vs DM).
-I create the input manager and select inlet and outlet faces.
-When i select the cylinder liner faces in the input manager i get the warning "All cylinder liner faces must be selected. Some face seems to be missing from selection. Missing faces have been identified, do you want to include them in then selection ?" asking me yes or no. The auto selected faces are part of the piston head so i click no, but the strange thing is that it auto select that pieces of the piston in only one of the four cylinders, so i checked the cad file to see if there are errors but it seems fine.
-Now it's the time to select valve bodies and seat faces. I create two separate IC Valves data groups for inlet valves (8 in total) and outlet valves (also 8 in total).
-I hit the generate button to generate the input manager.
-And in the end i click the button decompose, the decomposition seems to work but there's something wrong. It creates the "walls" and the piston and cylinder heads of only the first of the four cylinders. And there are problems with both inlet and outlet valves of cylinders 2-3-4. I got lot of warnings in the name selections in the tree outline regarding 2nd, 3rd and 4th cylinders.
I would appreciate if you help me in fixing this issues.
Thank you so much guys
I hope someone can move this post in the appropriate section if this is not the right one

Ansys EmployeeTry post this under Physics Simulation -> Fluid Dynamics section so you may get more attentions/responses.
Thanks,
