compression limit to a spring element

i am using a spring element connecting two parts. i need to limit the compression of the spring at a certain position. I cannot find any setting for that.

But in joint, say for exxample revolute joint we have STOPS tab for setting the min and max angle.

Please let me know if there is any setting for spring element in the connectons.

      Thankyou.

      Hi Bushetty,

There is no direct way to control the compression of the spring at a certain position, but you can control the compression position by controlling the stiffness of the spring. By defining the actual stiffness up to the desired compression length, and defining the very large stiffness value beyond that length.

Refer: 9.8. Springs (ansys.com), Part 4 :- Different type of spring modelling in ANSYS Mechanical (youtube.com)

      Thanks

      Deepak
