Subscriber I'm running the same model (same dimensions etc.) in eddy current solver and magnetstatic solver in maxwell. The inductance matrix of the 2 gives me different results. Magnetostatic solver gives L11 to be 25 mH while eddy current solver gives .69 mH. Is this discrepancy due to the fact that eddy current solver sets a model depth while magnetostatic does not? I've been trying to find an answer on the maxwell forums/guide but I can't find details on how the magnetostatic calculates the inductance.Â

Ansys EmployeeThe inductance calculation for both eddy current and magnetostatic solvers is based on stored energy. Please reference the Maxwell online help on your computer.
To compare the results between these solvers, use linear permeability, turn-off all eddy effects and set model depth = 1meter in the eddy current solver. The results should match.
