September 16, 2019 at 11:53 pmMattybrahhh SubscriberTrying to import line geometry for an isogrid structure in design modeller. The maximum allowable number of datapoints in Des.modeller is 10,000 so I have saved two seperate .txt files (have something like 16,000 datapoints). Anyway I can import one set of data fine but when I attempt to import the second set I get the error:
 Error: Boolean operation failed
Context: Geometry Engine, while generating Feature Curve9
I have tried to change topology settings as well as use a boolean unite feature with no luck.
Any help is very much appreciated.

From what I can tell you can import points into SpaceClaim but it won't automatically generate lines, don't want to manually join over 15,000 points.

September 17, 2019 at 2:46 ampeteroznewman SubscriberYou can definitely make curves through points when importing point data into SpaceClaim. You can choose a spline or straight line segments.

Next question, I am getting the error when importing to DesModeller:
Error: Failed to import assembly from SpaceClaim. No bodies to transfer.
 Context: Attach Feature Import1
I did some reading but could not find a specific answer, I want to assign a rectangular cross section to my line data in DesModeller.
 Thanks again.

September 17, 2019 at 5:03 amMattybrahhh SubscriberBasically I want to export the line data from SpaceClaim to DesModeller without assigning a cross section..

September 17, 2019 at 9:07 ampeteroznewman SubscriberYou can assign a rectangular cross section to the lines in SpaceClaim.
Here is a Tutorial that shows converting lines to Beams and assigning Cross-Sections.

September 17, 2019 at 9:48 pmMattybrahhh SubscriberThanks Peter,
I figured out how to get it working in Design Modeller simply by:
 Concept > 3D Curve > Operation > Add Frozen
This allowed me to import multiple .txt files without a worry.
