Hello, I am trying to change my hardware in virtual machine, but it says below message

I also try to make a new project space, but due to the hardware option problem, I cannot generate new virtual desktop.

 

 

I am currently using Seoul, Asia availability zone. I searched a little bit, and can the availability zone be a problem?

I solve the problem, by changing availability zone and waiting

It started to show the hardware well (We don’t know why it works.. we just wait and it suddenly works)

 

However, the problem is that when I press the save button, it says below error

My permission is already administrator, as shown below (upper one is my ID)

 

My tenant ID and project space number is shown below

I tried to change my hardware using AWS console by changing instance type

 

I successfully change the instance type(c6i.8xlarge. Note that my previous hardware type was c6i.large)

 

I can check it at ansys gateway aws

 

However, as you can see, the price is weird. 

 

Can I change the hardware type in the AWS console? Or do I need to change the hardware type in the ansys gateway AWS? 

I was wondering if I can simply increase the hardware settings in AWS or do I have to change the hardware through ANSYS GATEWAY AWS because it becomes more work in the backbone for the ANSYS program to utilize the hardware performance and ANSYS GATEWAY AWS does it automatically.

Hello Jongwon, Sorry for the late reply. Understood. I will check this issue with our Dev team. I would like to confirm one thing. Is this your first time running a job on Ansys Gateway? If so, there is a dedicated support ML(cloud-gateway-support@ansys.com) for inquiries from the initial setup to the first job execution. And any inquiries after the first job execution will be made via ACSS or this community.

Hello Jongwon, I have checked the issue with our Dev team and received the following answer. Could you please confirm it?

Answer 

1. About changing hardware from AWS managemant console
Changing hardware from AWS management console is not supported operation on Ansys Gateway. So it may cause the issue.

2. Error when changing hardware from Ansys Gateway User Interface
The issue could not be reproduced in our internal environment. It may be a temporary issue, so could you please try again to see if the issue can be reproduced?  If you are able to reproduce the issue, please contact support via ACSS as further investigation is required. Also, the easiest workaround is to evacuate the data and recreate the VM.

2. As you say, I made a new virtual machine and it worked. It seems it is temporary issue. Thank you for your help!
