I am performing an 3D electrostatic simulation of a voltage array with Ansys Maxwell. After performing the simulation, I want to be able to export 2D voltage contour plot data from a specific 2D plane into a CSV for post processing and analysis. For reference here is an image of my simulation with a 2D field overlay... Essentially I want to be able to take this contour plot and remesh it so that each data point is linarly spaced in X and Y and then export it into a CSV.Â
I am wondering if there is a straight forward way to do this. I found this short tutorial on Youtube which looked to be perfect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_7A9vKSNuY. It uses a method of defining a poly line at the edge of the 2d plane of interest, moving it to the other edge of the plane by variable dx, adding a parametric sweep in dx and then creating a contour plot of my simulation, setting the geometry to polyline, the primary sweep to distance, and the secondary sweep to the dx variable. Unfortunately this method fails and always generates a degenerate contour. Is there a straighforward way to do this?Â

If this is just a Z directional plane, it would be simple to export the field data using field calculator. You could note down the X Y range and the Z value of this plane, go to Maxwell 3D>>Field>>Field Calculator, copy the field expression you would like export to stack, export, then use the XYrang and Z value for the data to export.
