Creating a shell element with thickness and an inner part (corticalis&spongiosa)

      Hello,

I am doing research on a pelvis model. The geometry was derived from an STL file and edited with autoskin. But somehow it seems impossible to create an outer shell and an inner part to accurately portray the bone structure while still using the function autoskin. I need the funktion autoskin on both parts because of the benefit of the easier meshing in another calculation software.

      Hi Roya,

Please check the tutorials in this video Discovery SpaceClaim: Reverse Engineering - Ansys Knowledge

Can you please share exactly what you mean by outer shell and inner part?
Screenshots of the STL will make it easier to understand.

      Thanks and Regards
      Atharv

Last video “Creating Periodic Blended Patches from STL in SpaceClaim” in the playlist Discovery SpaceClaim: Reverse Engineering – Ansys Knowledge covers STL to solid creation for similar use cases.

You can try the discussed method and check if that helps you resolve the issuse.
