SubscriberRespected sir,
Normally we use FDE solver to calculate coupling lenght of Two straight wavegude (for a particular wavelength and gap). And for that we use the n_eff difference of symmetric mode (mode 1) and antisymmetric mode (mode 2). But we can't able distinguish them by visualization. Basically for Symmetric mode the field intensity in both waveguide should high and for the antisymmertic mode one should high and another should low . But in FDE for the both cases the field intensity is high. Is there anyway to visualize accurately ? may be any other lumerical module?
regards,
Mijan

Ansys EmployeeHi Mijanur,
Have you tried visualizing the transverse field components of both the modes? We have a similar example, that might be of interest to you, please find it here: Evanescent waveguide couplers. Please feel free to add screenshots of the mode profile of both the modes and the mode list.
Regards,
Amrita
