Hi all, I have an FSI simulation for airflow in the airway tree. At the end of my simulation, i can see the deformation of the tree in transient structural, and can also see the changes in flow in the result section of fluent and also in ensight. Is there a way to visualize both the deformation of the tree and fluid flow at the same time. I've read it can be done in ensight but I have no idea how to go about that. I've only been successful at opening the fluid component in ensight. Is there a certain file type I need to save the structural result to in order to open in ensight? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, you can post-process co-simulation results in Ensight. Please refer Postprocessing System Coupling's Co-Simulation Results (ansys.com)

Hi Rahul, thanks for the reply. I clicked on the link and it's asking for some sort of registration and an account number. I am a student and I'm using a student version of Ansys. Is there any other way I can access the information you shared? Thanks

Hi Rahul, thanks a lot for this. I’ve been able to access the documentation. I see that the available Ensight result format for system coupling is (.case) and (.dvs), and I have none of that after my simulation. I read that “Ensight output will not be created if all interfaces in the analysis contain sides without regions defined. However, results are written for the interface sides containing regions”. What does this mean? My simulation has defined surfaces for the fluid inlet and all outlets, fluid wall, contact between the fluid and solid for system coupling, and the fluid region. Is there something I’m missing or didn’t include to not have the .case and .dvs files? Thanks

I recommend going over this tutorial in the Ansys documentation that shows a 2-way FSI simulation with Fluent and Mechanical.
