Schottky charge transport

      Hi,

I am new to charge solver.

I want to setup the design include Au-TiO2-Au , there is schottky barrier between Au and TiO2 in Charge solver. The top layer will be 6 sphere of Au as a structure group of hexagon , next layer will be TiO2 as semiconductor (but in material library, there is only TiO2 as insulator) then the last layer will be other rectangle Au.

First, how to make TiO2 semiconductor in charge because there is only one option of it is insulator.

And I already set up and make structure group is one of the elctrode, another Au layer is ground. But it is stuck at meshing 5%

My goal is calculate current go from Au spheres to TiO2 layer.

      Hi Phat,

Thank you for reaching out to us! I think in this case you may turn TiO2 to semiconductor with some proper material properties:

Tips for creating a new semiconductor material

As for the mesh issue, there might be different reasons for that to occur. One common one can be that after partitioning the simulation volume, there might be that some domains have no materials assigned. Please refer to this article: Partitioned volumes in finite element solvers - Simulation object

Let me know if these two suggestion worked, or if you have any additional question.

      Kind Regards,

      Niki

      Hi Nikki,

I am sorry for this very late response, I have tried to create new material with parameters' value I found from previous research papers, but it did not work and complaint that my configuration is not correct. Do you have any suggestion on creating new material like video examples ? Thank you in advanced.

      Best regards,

      Phat
