Shaft analysis with SKF Bearing extension

      Hi,
I am having an issue trying to perform analysis of total deformation and equivalent stress on this shaft.

The setup I have is according to the picutre. Two bearings which I have used SKF Bearing extension to import. I have then applied a moment load to a part of the shaft.

When trying to perform analysis on this setup I get the following error message: "An internal solution magnitude limit was exceeded. (Node Number 1180, Body Default\Solid, DOF UZ) Please check your Environment for inappropriate load values or insufficient supports. You may select the offending object and/or geometry via RMB on this warning in the Messages window. Please see the Troubleshooting section of the Help System for more information."

Any help would be much appreciated.

Bearings only constrain the lateral motion of the shaft, not torsion or axial displacement.  You could constrain those directions with a Displacement constraint somewhere or translational and torsional springs.

Hi Dave and thanks for your reply.

I have tried using a remote displacement on the end of the shaft locking rotation and movement about the X axis. However, the results i recieve seems very unrealistic. A maximum equivalent stress of 5MPa with an applied torque of around 5700Nm. Is there potentially something else I could have missed?

If you drag and drop the remote displacement onto Solution is the reaction moment equal to the applied moment?
