Hello,
I do a lot of simulations for research with periodic boundaries (or the primary/secondary/lattice pair boundaires), and I am curious to get some insight as to whether HFSS uses a specific, specialized method to solve those types of problems. Does HFSS perchance use some variation on the "Fast spectral domain algorithm" (see reference below), or is the solution process more similar to one without periodic boundaries?

Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys learning forum.Â
Please note that you will find the relevant technical information for users understanding under the "Technical Notes" section of the HFSS help document (under boundaries). Unfortunately, we cannot share proprietary information such as the solver algorithm.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Praneeth. -

Hello,
Thank you for the response. That's good to know, and it makes sense to keep proprietary solver algorithms confidential.
Thank you again!
