Whenever I import the .step file into explicit dynamics using discovery, my model (a structure and a wall) only loads the wall. I have copied a picture of the cross section without the wall. This cross section continues for about 1770mm. The .step file is 130 MB. Is there a way to somehow make this model work as it is?

Try exporting a Parasolid out of SolidWorks to import into Discovery, you might get a better result.
