How to import displacement boundary condition for harmonic analysis?

      Hello,

How can I export the displacement from my static structural analysis and set them in the harmonic analysis as boundary conditions for the entire geometry.

If there is an APDL command for this, please let me know.

      Thank you.

      Hi,

Did you try dragging and droping the boundary condition from one Analysis type to the other one?

      Regards,

      Hello Ashish,

Thank you so much for your response.

      Let me rephrase my question.

I have conducted a Modal Analysis for a structure and I want to export a Mode Shape and supply it to the Harmonic Analysis with a defined Amplitude.

      Thank you.

Thanks for the clarification. I think you want to use modal analysis to perform harmonic analysis. Please see if the following link helps you: Performing Mode Superposition Harmonic Analysis - Lesson 1 - ANSYS Innovation Courses

      Hello Ashish,

I have gone through this self learning module.

      Please read my question again.

I am looking to extract the mode shape displacement at each nodal location from the modal analysis and then supply those displacement to the Ansys harmonic analysis solver as my boundary conditions with a prescribed amplitude for the displacement.

This is not covered in the self learning module. Therefore the question.

Please let me know if you could help with this.

      Thank you.

      Hello,

Recently when I am performing mechanical analysis of a part through ansys workbench, I would like to import the 3D deformations at various locations on the surface of the part obtained from monitoring into the geometry model as displacement boundary conditions. At present, I have some ideas on my side, but I don’t know whether it is feasible or not. Through searching, I found that your requirement is similar to mine, have you found a suitable solution?Maybe we can have a more in-depth communication on this issue.

      Looking forward to your reply.

      Thank you.

      Hi,

Do you want to perform a thermal analysis on already deformed geometry? Can you create a new post for this issue?

      Regards,

      Hi,

Sorry,it's mechanical analysis, and i'll correct the above post.

      Thank you.

Hi, first of all you should export your deformed geometry, then export it to the harmonic analysis using external data. could you please say your main purpose that obliges you doing such an analysis? there may be better way to simulate your job
