SubscriberHello,
I am working on a geometry (channel made by two corruagted sheets) of size 470x200mm. The model is made in Solidworks and inported as step file to Ansys. The meshing of geometry is taking 7-8 hours and no of elements are crossing 10 million. The warning shows NURBS surfaces. Any suggestions to solve the problem?

Forum ModeratorStart by checking the geometry - have you imported what you think you're supposed to be importing? How far apart are the sheets? How big is the fluid zone? Have you done any of the tutorials?Â

SubscriberYes I have solved similar problem of corrugated sheets with corrugation angle only in one direction. but in this geometry I am using corrugation pattern in both dierctions (as in plate type heat exchanger plate). Also the distance between plates is 3.63 mm. Amplitude of corrugation is 1.59mm. The dimensions of plates are 470x200mm.

Forum ModeratorOK, chances are the meshing tool is trying to mesh the faces with enough resolution to then get a good mesh through the solid. PHX are a fun thing to mesh, not least because of the way the plates are crushed into position.Â
