Hi,

I am trying to model a surface with shell elements, i fix the 4 edges and apply a preassure, the solution converged if i use membrane and bending stiffnes but when i turn the bending stiffness off the solutions doesnt converge. does someone know how to work with this option?

Hi

Membrane needs a pretension to build up bending stiffness – (by default there is none - bending stiffness ),

 

One can use the inistate command to add some tension (hence bending stiffness) before adding lateral pressure loads.
