SubscriberHi everyone!I'm doing a transient analysis of a simply-supported beam bridge with prestress, but I'm running into some problems.I don't know why the displacement results I got are completely wrong. Moreover, when i increase the time step(0.2s--->1s),the computation does not converge. This is my code. Finally, why the L2 loss of F is so big?Maybe someone can show me where I'm going wrong? Thanks a million!

Ansys EmployeeWhy are you using BEAM3? It has not been supported for at least 10 years (probably closer to 20 years). You need to revise your script to use one of the current technology beam elements (probably BEAM188).

Ansys EmployeeHi
As Daniel said these elements are old and not supported - on beam188 you can use inistate command, or temperature (apply pretension), or perhaps pretension inside mechanical to apply a preload/stress.
All the best
