SubscriberHere is a Transient Structural analysis inserted into RBD. I just aim for this belt-pulley system to roll on the inclined surface. Pulleys are rigid, belt is flexible. Contacts are defined, and some give errors. When Condensed Parts are not defined I get this error:
--> "Only rigid bodies and flexible bodies which are used in Condensed Parts are allowed in the current analysis"
Once I assign a Condensed Part to the Belt I get these errors:
- "For an RBD analysis, contact can not be applied between a condensed part and any other part."
- "Interfaces of type 'General' are not allowed when generating files for RBD analyses"
Got stuck and any help is appreciated! -

Ansys EmployeeThe errors you're encountering are related to the specific requirements of RBD analysis in Ansys.
In RBD, only rigid bodies and flexible bodies used in Condensed Parts are allowed. This is why you're seeing the error when Condensed Parts are not defined. When you assign a Condensed Part to the Belt, you're encountering another limitation of RBD analysis: contact cannot be applied between a condensed part and any other part.As for the error about 'General' interfaces, it seems that this type of interface is not allowed when generating files for RBD analyses. You can apply loading conditions only to the interfaces of Condensed Parts. Remote Displacements and Remote Forces applied to the Condensed Parts using geometry selection, must match the scoping of an interface of the Condensed Part, or be applied directly via Remote Point selection. Inertial loads are automatically applied on all Condensed Parts by the Rigid Dynamics Solver.
Please refer to the ''Belt and Pulley Assembly'' post for further guidance on how to set up your simulation.

SubscriberHi Zoi, contact is meant for General interfaces. It does not accept Rough contact and the remaining types of contact as well. I merged all rigid bodies under one Condensed Part and flexible bodies under another but the problem remains unsolved.Â

SubscriberIn fact the problem starts when the model is put on an inclined surface. Before putting it on the surface it works fine; the belt bends and elongates, and the pulleys rotate demonstrating a motion of RBD.Â
