Hi ,
I am doing my final year engineering project based on the CFD of a shell and tube heat exchanger. I have completed my model, I have a few doubts to clear up.
I modeled the heat exchanger using design modeler , in the fluent processor to account for the conduction through the tube wall should I set the wall thickness , or is it the case where I should draw a tube with inner and outer diameter .
Also I produced two volume domains shell and tube volumes for the fluids , the outer wall of the shell is adiabatic should I include a thickness in the shell.
Thanks in advance ,

You can use thin wall or a solid zone - both work, but both have different advantages. Have a look at the Fluent basics and heat transfer course in Learning.Â
