SubscriberI have a question. Is it possible to burn solid fuel in ansys with a loss of mass? Would it be possible to burn, for example, a lump of coal with a loss of its mass consistent with the combustion reaction? How to implement this?

Forum ModeratorDo you want to look at a single lump burning or a coal "spray" combustor?Â

SubscriberRather a single block. I want to simulate a layer of "garbage" from a landfill and look at the transport of mass and energy between them during the methane uptake process.

Forum ModeratorSo layers of material? Porous media might be an option. For burning of a single block you may need to use UDFs coupled to moving mesh. We'd typically model the coal sprays with DPM.Â
