SubscriberI am simulating the shaft and hydraulic seal assembly in the static structural system. The steel shaft moves inside the hydraulic seal fitted inside the steel hub. The seal material is (Elastomer, non-linear material). The seal is getting deformed due application of pressurization of the seal.
I want to know the Governing equation (mathematical equation) considered by the ANSYS for seal deformation.

Hi,
The governing equation for large deformation is same as in small deformation (div (Sigma)+ bodyforce =0), but the stress-strain relationship is found from a energy density functional, like neo-Hookean, Mooney- rivlin, yeoh model, etc. and the stress measures are different based on which configuration you are measuring the force and the corresponding area.
