SubscriberHi everyone, I'm trying to model a porous heat exchanger in ansys fluent and I'm using the porous zone conditions, but I'm having trouble finding the right paramiters with the data I have available ( all the data I have are the one shown in figure). In particular I use the known pressure drop to compute the viscous resistance (neglecting the inertial resistance since the regime is laminar in the porous media) but running the simulation I can't obtain the right values of pressure drop. Also I don't know how to obtain values for porosity with the data I have. The first porous media doesn't exchange heat so used porosity equal to 1.

Forum ModeratorPorous media is covered in the Fluent User's Guide in great detail. You need several pressure v flow data points to get the coefficients, although you may get a rough correlation with just one point & the origin: not recommended.Â
Also look at the non-equilibrium model & read carefully.Â
