Stress on the beam

      Hi everybody.

Please I have a question. the beam (linear element) doesn´t show stress as if the body does (solid element). Since the model is symmetric to save computacional time I applied summetry and combined a linear element with a solid element. Could you help me show the stress on the model?

      Thank you!

The model was built in Ansys 2019 R1

Von Mises does not exist for beams in WB.

Use the beam tool to look on stresses on beams (say maximum combined which is bending, and axial stress added), these might not be available for user defined sections.

      Hi

I was referring to how I can get both linear and solid results as the image shown in another post.

You can just plot the deformation and you will see that for both.

The stresses, as in principal or VM stress, (not beam stresses as mentioned, that is combined and bending, using the beam tool) though are not possible to see in WB for beams, but of course for solid parts.
